Two fledgling rufous hummingbirds prepare for their first flight

20/06/09

Thanks to Susan Gottschick of Maple Ridge for providing me with a ladder with which I was able to get a shot of two fledgling rufous hummingbirds. Susan and her husband live in a new subdivision surrounded by forest but these birds live outside their door in a recently planted ornamental tree.
The two birds are out growing their nest and should be gone in a few days.
